The true cost of a bad hire

In battery storage, the wrong appointment can cost considerably more than a salary. Enter your own figures to see the exposure, then download a branded report.

The role
Salary and hiring costs
Productivity
Replacement and project impact
How the calculation works
  1. Recruitment and onboarding: the cost you enter.
  2. Lost productivity: annual salary ÷ 12 × months × productivity reduction. Only the unproductive share of salary is counted, so pay and lost output are never counted twice.
  3. Replacement recruitment: the cost you enter.
  4. Project delay: weeks of delay × your weekly delay cost. If your weekly figure already includes staff costs, reduce the productivity figure to avoid overlap.
  5. Additional training and other measurable costs: as entered.

Low and high scenarios adjust only the uncertain inputs: months (× 0.75 and × 1.25), productivity reduction (× 0.75 and × 1.25, capped at 100%) and delay weeks (× 0.5 and × 1.5). Fixed costs stay as entered. There are no hidden multipliers.

Protect your next critical appointment

Most of the exposure in a bad hire comes from time: months of reduced output and weeks of project delay. A rigorous brief, a researched market and structured assessment reduce that risk. See how a STORIQ search works.
