Privacy notice
How we handle the personal information you share with us, and the information we use in our work.
This notice explains how STORIQ Partners ("we", "us") uses personal information. We are the controller of that information for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have questions, email hello@storiqpartners.com.
Information you give us
- Enquiries and report requests: your name, organisation, business email, optional telephone number and role, the service and timescale you choose, how you heard about us, and any message.
- Newsletter: your email address and, if you choose, your name and organisation, with a record of when and how you subscribed and confirmed.
- Bad hire cost reports: your name, company, work email, the role being recruited, an optional telephone number, and the figures you enter in the calculator, so we can produce and email your report and record the request in our client system.
- Talent network and market assessments: your name, email, optional telephone number, the career details you enter in the market value tool (such as discipline, experience, country, certifications and, if you choose, current salary), your interests and, if you upload one, your CV.
The market value tool calculates your result without saving anything. Your details are stored only if you choose to register.
Information collected automatically
- Enquiry context: the page on which you submitted a form, any campaign tags in the page address (for example utm_source) and the website that referred you, so we can understand which channels are useful.
- Abuse prevention: a one way coded fingerprint of your IP address, kept for no more than 48 hours to limit repeated submissions. We cannot recover your IP address from it.
- Aggregate page counts: we count page views per page and per day, and the referring website, without cookies and without storing any identifier for you.
- Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects usage information as described in our cookie policy.
Executive search and research
In carrying out executive search, talent mapping and research, we process professional information about potential candidates and market participants, such as career history and current role, gathered from public professional sources and from conversations. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests and those of our clients in identifying suitable leaders. We inform individuals when we first contact them, hold only what is relevant, and respect requests to stop.
How we use information and our lawful bases
- To respond to enquiries and provide our services: legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To send the newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To hold talent network registrations and CVs, assess your market position and contact you about relevant opportunities: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We never share your details or CV with an employer without your agreement.
- To produce and email bad hire cost reports and follow up on them: legitimate interests and steps taken at your request.
- To keep records of client relationships: legitimate interests and legal obligations.
- To protect our website from abuse: legitimate interests.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for automated decision making.
Retention
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted 24 months after the last activity. Client records are kept for as long as the relationship continues and as required for legal and accounting purposes. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again. Talent network records and CVs are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact and then deleted, unless you ask us to keep in touch. Report download links expire after seven days and stored report figures are deleted after 90 days.
How we protect CVs
CVs are stored in a private folder that cannot be reached from the web, under a random file name, and can be downloaded only by signed in STORIQ administrators. You can ask us to delete your CV at any time.
Who we share information with
Our website and database are hosted by our hosting provider, and email is delivered through our email provider. They act as processors under contract. If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes analytics data. We do not share enquiry details with candidates or other clients without your agreement, and we disclose information to authorities only where the law requires it.
International transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict our use of it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@storiqpartners.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
