Interim leadership

Experienced judgement when timing matters. We help you decide whether an interim or fractional arrangement is the right answer, define the mandate and introduce leaders who have done the work before.

An interim executive usually works full time for a defined period: leading a construction programme, a refinancing or a business through a leadership change. A fractional executive works part time over a longer period, giving a growing business senior judgement before it can justify a full time role.
The right choice depends on the intensity and duration of the work, and on who must be accountable for the outcome. We start with that question before discussing any individual.
Typical situations include a debt raise without a senior finance lead, a wave of connection offers that needs experienced handling, a first construction programme, a sudden departure, or a founder who needs senior support while the business grows into permanent roles.
Objectives, duration, time commitment and decision rights.
Experienced interim and fractional leaders with directly relevant track records.
Introductions, interviews and clear contractual arrangements.
Regular contact during the assignment and support with a permanent successor where needed.
Experienced interim executives can often start sooner than permanent appointees because they are not working through long notice periods. We will give you a realistic view when we understand the mandate.
Sometimes, and we will discuss that possibility openly at the outset so expectations are clear for both sides.
